More than bare metal

Carbium RPC runs in a Swiss-owned private data center, on hardware, fibre, routers, firewalls and power that Carbium owns and operates. This page shows which layers we control and how a request travels through them.

Follow a request through the stack

Four layers between the public internet and your answer. Carbium runs all four.

  1. Network entry

Your request arrives over dark fibre that Carbium operates, not over a shared cloud uplink.

  2. Routing and firewalls

Carbium's own routers and firewalls carry it inside the private data center.

  3. RPC hardware

A bare-metal Solana node that Carbium owns answers it.

  4. Response

The answer goes back the same way. Every layer in between is run by the same team.

What Carbium operates

Facility and power

  • A private data center in Switzerland, owned by Carbium
  • Power redundancy operated by Carbium, not by a hosting provider
  • Physical access limited to the Carbium team

Fibre and network

  • Dark fibre into the facility, lit and operated by Carbium
  • Carbium's own routers, so routing policy is ours to set
  • Carbium's own firewalls in front of every node

Compute

  • Bare-metal servers Carbium owns, not rented cloud instances
  • Solana nodes run by Carbium on that hardware
  • JSON-RPC, WebSocket and gRPC streaming served from the same stack

Management and operations

  • Management systems built and run by Carbium
  • Plan limits published per plan: credits and requests per second
  • Service status published at status.carbium.io

What “own” means here

Owning hardware, controlling routing and running a facility are different claims. This is who owns and who operates each layer behind Carbium RPC.

Ownership and operation are not an uptime promise. Service status is published at status.carbium.io; plan limits are published on the plans page.

Questions

What the words on this page mean, and what they do not.

Connect to Carbium RPC

What does "Swiss-owned private data center" mean?

Carbium owns the data center its Solana nodes run in, and it is in Switzerland. It is private: the facility, the power redundancy and the physical access are Carbium's, not a colocation or cloud provider's.

Does Carbium own the servers that answer my requests?

Yes. Carbium RPC runs on bare-metal servers Carbium owns, in its own data center, behind its own routers and firewalls, connected over its own dark fibre. Nothing in that path is rented cloud capacity.

Is this more than bare metal?

Yes. Owning servers is one layer. Carbium also owns and operates the facility, the power redundancy, the fibre, the routers, the firewalls and the management systems around them, so the whole path from the network edge to the node is run by one team.

Does owning the infrastructure guarantee uptime?

No infrastructure guarantees uptime, and this page makes no such promise. What ownership gives you is one accountable operator for every layer and published limits per plan. Service status is published at status.carbium.io.

Where can I see the plans that run on this infrastructure?

All four Carbium RPC plans run on the same infrastructure: Free at $0, Developer at $32, Business at $320 and Professional at $640 a month. Business and Professional add gRPC streaming. The plans page lists credits and requests per second for each.
